WOW. Last week's Artists' Happy Hour event was great success. 90 people - creatives of all disciplines - mixed, mingled, ate, drank, looked at art made by folks at
Top Drawer Art, listened to some wonderful speakers and enjoyed music by
Allysen Callery.

RISCA Exec Director Randy Rosenbaum addressing the crowd. |
Keri Cronin, on behalf of the Warren Arts Initiative (WAI) spoke about our mission statement and shared some news about local artists (we'll recap that in our next post.) Randy Rosenbaum, Executive Director of
RI State Council for the Arts, talked about Warren's tax-free arts district and gave a mini-grant presentation. (Stay tuned for more in-depth grant presentation.) He praised the turnout saying, "Rarely do I see this kind of engagement on the community level." Town Councilman Davison Bolster said he "felt emotional" seeing years of working for the arts coming to fruition in front of his eyes. And, finally, Tom McAleer, founder of Top Drawer Art, spoke about the work they do and the importance of community involvement.
